Jaunt through the Academy of Art

I went on a trip to the Honolulu Academy of Art and found it much more appealing than I thought it might have been. They had a great Asian historical art collection, which shouldn't have been surprising, but also a pretty good (if only by names within the collection) Abstract/Contemporary collection. The dorkyist part I found most impressive? The wall plaques were some of the most concisely written and impressively informative I have ever read in a museum/gallery!

An introduction to Raziel.

This is my kitten. Or cat (since she is about 8 years old). Her name is Raziel, but everybody calls her Raz. Just for short, not cause she's a spaz or anything. In terms of cat behavior, she's more like a little human than a lot of the naughty cats I hear about. Of course the child thats yours is always the best child, isn't that how this goes?

Greyson's wood blocks, shhhhh, its a secret.

Here are the wood blocks I have been making for Greyson. I had a lot of fun making them, and all that is left to do is to dye them. The best non-toxic dye that I have found for wood is none other than unsweetened Kool-Aid! Fantastic, I'm so happy that they will tasted good, I was concerned.

The container took just as long as the blocks themselves surprisingly enough! But now that I've done it once, it should be easier to do it again, if the need should ever arise. I like how the box can double as a playing platform. A lot of the cooler blocks in my opinion came from actually play testing to see what form would be best for optimum happiness in the field of play.
